Peer Gynt release

For their first foreign tour in over 2 years, the Trondheim Soloists returns to Germany to present their ground-breaking "Peer Gynt Suite" with soloist Ragnhild Hemsing in two concerts at the Elb-Philharmonie in Hamburg and Stadthalle Eckernförde.

With the programme »Peer Gynt«, the Trondheim Soloists and Hardanger-fiddle player and violinist Ragnhild Hemsing will transport the audience off to the far North through the music of Grieg, Sallinen and Byström.

Although much of Grieg’s Peer Gynt suites are among the world’s most popular classical melodies, these new arrangements by Trondheim-born composer Tormod Tvete Vik shine a new light on their origins in the folk traditions and melodies of Norway and show how these inspired much of Grieg’s greatest work.

Alongside works by present-day Scandinavian composers Aulis Sallinen and Brita Byström the audience will be immersed in a programme that beautifully illustrates our musical heritage of the north.

Come and join us in Hamburg for the concert and the release of our Peer Gynt recording and celebrate the musical history of Scandinavia from the past 150 years.
